About Lash Extensions
Lash Extensions are used to enhance the length, curliness, fullness, and thickness of natural eyelashes. This is achieved by isolating individual natural lashes and attaching a single synthetic mink extension to the natural lash with a medical grade adhesive. The result is a great look with no mascara and less fuss required in your daily routine.

Benefits of Lash Extensions
They are virtually weightless and will not damage your natural lashes so you can choose to wear them permanently with regular infills. Eyelash extensions are applied on your own natural eyelashes one by one with a specially designed hypoallergenic bonding agent developed exclusively for eyelash extensions. This technique is not harmful to your natural eyelashes. The adhesive dries very softly on lashes allowing flexibility and comfort.
- No mascara needed
- No curler needed
- No Mess
- No fuss
- Just brush and go
Getting a full set of eyelash extensions takes approx. 2 hours depending on how many natural lashes the individual has.
Lash extensions are completely customized for the client so the first step of an appointment is a consultation, here we will take a look at the condition of your natural lashes and decide together what look you want to achieve with the extensions (Natural, glam, wide-eyed, sultry…). Once this is determined we will help choose the correct length, weight and curl for your extensions to ensure the correct result is achieved that the natural lashes remain healthy with the extensions.
From here your lower lashes will be placed underneath an eye pad to ensure they are kept separate for the lashes getting the extensions. Once the eye pad is on, your eyes will remain shut for the remainder of the appointment (this means it is wise to use the bathroom prior to and be prepared to be away from your phone for the entire appointment, just lay back and relax).
For the duration of the appointment, we will be working above your head with tweezers. We will be isolating individual natural lashes and attaching a single extension with a tiny bit of glue to the natural lash. This process ensures that there is only ever 1 natural lash attached to an extension. If this is NOT done properly you will end up with more than one natural lash attached to each extension and when it comes time for the natural lash to shed out this will cause some pulling on the other natural lashes attached. The result will be premature shedding of some natural lashes which is not healthy for your lashes. We ensure through multiple checks that only 1 natural lash is ever attached to an extension. Once we have finished adding extensions to every mature lash, we do a final check to ensure they are perfectly isolated and nothing it stuck to another lash. We then mist the lashes with water to set to glue, remove the tape and give the lashes a final brush and you are good to go. At the end of your service, we will teach you how to properly brush and care for your lashes to ensure they remain looking amazing until your next fill.
About natural lashes
Natural lashes like the rest of the hair on your body must shed in order to gain new hairs. A typical cycle of growth for eyelashes is 60-90 days. Glad you don’t shed all of your lashes all at once right?
Each person’s hair growth cycle may vary, but on average we shed a whole set of our natural lashes in 4 to 6 months, this means our lashes are always shedding out and allowing for regrowth of healthy, brand new lashes. As a result, we always have multiple stages of lash growth (baby hairs, adolescent hairs and mature hairs), with lash extensions, we only add extensions to lashes that are mature and strong enough for the extensions.
Most people lose 1 to 3 natural lashes per day on average and never notice it because the lashes are so small and thin. With properly applied eyelash extensions, the natural growth cycle of your natural eyelashes will not be affected, but you might notice the shedding of lashes more than before because your lashes are darker and thicker with the extensions attached.
It is recommended to get your lashes filled every 2-3 week. During a fill, we will go through all the remaining extensions and remove any extensions from the natural lash that have grown out. We will them go through and add extensions to the new natural lashes that have come in since your last appointment and re-extension the mature lashes from which we removed the grown out extensions. This keeps your lashes looking full and gorgeous all the time.
Seeing as lash shedding is so gradual you will not really notice that the extensions have thinned, however, you will notice the difference after your fill once they are full again.
Before Your Appointment
Prior to your appointment, we ask you to do a few things to ensure that the appointment goes smoothly and that you get the best retention for your lash extensions.
- Come to your appointment with a clean face. This will ensure more time for adding lashes and less time removing eye makeup.
- Be sure all mascara is removed.
- Avoid applying moisturizers and sunblock near the eye area prior to your appointment as the oils can prevent the eye pads used in the procedure from adhering to your skin.
- Avoid using waterproof mascara for 2-3 days before your first appointment. The film it leaves on your lashes may prevent the extensions from adhering correctly.
- Shower prior to your appointment. This eliminates any unnecessary contact with water or steam within the first 24 hours of having lash extensions which will ensure the bond between the extensions and your natural lashes can properly set.
- Remove contacts. It is always suggested that contacts are removed to allow eyes to be comfortable in a natural and rested state during your application.
- Avoid caffeine. You want to be comfortable and at peace during the procedure.
- Do not pre-curl your lashes.
